Located 5-hours from the capital of Quito and just 3- hours from Baños, our camp is situated in the heart of the Amazon. Along the picturesque banks of the Napo River, our home for the upcoming days will be the San Pedro de Sumino community, located in the Chontapunta parish.
The lodge is within the protected territory, surrounded by 80 hectares of land that are part of a 500-hectare natural reserve, the lodge offers all the comfort that you need for a cozy stay. The Cabins have comfortable rooms and private bathrooms, a large dining room with a bar, several rest places, and a large lounge area on a natural lagoon where you can relax in the hammocks and watch birds, monkeys, and at night; alligators. We offer fantastic excursions in the Jungle and have a chance to meet the people and immerse yourself within the native people of Ecuador.

DAY 1. Misahualli
After breakfast, we board a bus departing from either Quito or Baños, embarking on a captivating journey that transitions from the Andes down to the Amazon basin. Our destination for the first night is Misahuallí.
DAY 2. River Navigation
AM: Breakfast at the hotel. Following breakfast, we gather for a navigation adventure down the Napo River en route to our jungle lodge nestled deep within the Amazon. Along the river journey, we make stops to explore a rescue center dedicated to jungle animals facing threats and challenges. It's fascinating to discover the rehabilitation process employed to prepare these creatures for eventual release back into their natural habitat. (Lunch included)
PM: In the afternoon, we'll explore the Caiman's lagoon. Here we’ll practice the blow-pipe, using darts without poison. Alternatively, you can opt for river tubing, an enjoyable activity where you leisurely float downstream on an inner tube. At 16:30, we are welcomed at the lodge. After check-in, there's plenty of time to unwind until dinner at 19:00. An optional guided night walk is available for those eager to further explore. Rest assured, the night will be accompanied by the soothing sounds of the jungle, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.
DAY 3. The Amazon
AM: After breakfast, we embark on the Napo river adventure to explore the Bird Lagoon, making bird observation the primary focus. Also included is piranha fishing, allowing us to engage with the rich aquatic life of the region.
Continuing our journey, we reach an island where we meet a Kichwa family. Here, we delve into their way of life, traditions, knowledge of medicinal plants, and agricultural practices. This unique opportunity extends to tasting their traditional food and experiencing the craftsmanship behind the renowned chicha of mandioca (Yuca). To conclude our morning activities, we will return to the lodge for lunch and relax until we resume activities in the afternoon.
PM: Our afternoon activities will begin with the art of handcrafted gold washing on the Napo River Island, gaining insights into the traditional methods employed to extract gold from the river. Additionally, a refreshing swim in the river awaits, providing a memorable experience that culminates at the beach. If clear visibility is on our side, we will witness the sunset against the backdrop of the majestic Sumaco Volcano. To conclude our day, we will enjoy dinner served back at the lodge.
DAY 4. Return to Quito
Sunrise birdwatching is offered before breakfast, please bring binoculars.
